THEATER BUFF: Adam Perry of “Anything Goes” (and More!)
Every third Wednesday, a fabulous actor/singer/dancer will fill out my nosey little questionnaire and offer a glimpse of what they look like from a bit closer than the mezzanine. For November, not only do we have an interview and pictures but we’ve also got a video clip of our talented man of the month!
Name: Adam Perry
Hometown: Speedwell, TN
Current Show/Role: Sailor on the S.S. American in Anything Goes; Soldier 2/Interrogator in the Yank! workshop; the film My Week With Marilyn [scroll down to watch a scene from the movie featuring Adam in a musical number with star Michelle Williams!]
The best part of the show I’m in now is: The end of Act I. When we finish the title number, the audience goes crazy. It’s thrilling!
The most challenging job in show business I ever had was: The Lost Colony, an outdoor drama in North Carolina. No matter how hot it got, we still painted our entire bodies like Native Americans and danced in sand. However, I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.
Places, Intermission or Curtain Call? Places. The energy that’s coming from the audience is palpable. You can feel it through the curtain.
The best post-show cocktail in town is at: Elsewhere, West 43rd and 8th. I just loooove their wine selection. and they are always happy to make my favorite cocktail, The Knockout. Coined by my friend Kristen Owen, it’s equal parts Citron and St. Germain chilled, shaken and served up in a martini glass with a champagne topper. Delicious!
After you’ve hit all the traditional sites of New York City, you should totally go to: Roam the streets of the West Village. The don’t miss restaurant in the area is Diablo Royale. Love the margritas and the fried chicken tacos. To. Die. For.
If I could live anywhere else in the world it would be: Hawaii, if I had to choose. But I really am in love with New York City.
Pick a Stewart: Jon, Martha or Rod? Martha…I’m very crafty. I’m really into interior design and landscape design.
My workout “secret” is: a kick@#s playlist on my ipod! (I’ve been known to bust a move on the gym floor.) My most-played songs during a workout are “Love on Top” by Beyonce and “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse.
When I’m looking for a date, nothing attracts me more than: Sense of humor.
When I’m web surfing, the site I’m most likely to be on is: The book o’ face. It’s great because I love staying in touch with old friends and distant family.
Board Shorts, Speedo or Skinny Dip? Skinny dip, much rather be naked. It’s natural.
People would be surprised to learn that I: Would ask for a bowl of cookie dough for my last meal.
When I was 10, I wanted to be just like: Hulk Hogan
Ten years from now, I’d like to be: In the movies or on TV.
Favorite Thanksgiving food? Hands down, without a doubt, STUFFING!!!!!!!!!
