Exclusive Preview of New CD from Broadway’s T. Oliver Reid
Is there anything more satisfying than watching good people get their breakthrough moment? T. Oliver Reid has been a consistent ensemble player in some of the biggest Broadway shows of the last decade (he’s currently in Mary Poppins). With his devilish smile and supple voice, he’s been a go-to guy in many a musical workshop (including a reading of one of my shows) and a valued friend, I suspect, to three quarters of the theater people in New York.
So we all cheered when the New York Times raved about his debut cabaret performance last year, saying, “To witness Mr. Reid infuse popular standards with the immediacy and intensity of diary entries…was to observe an unfaltering emotional high-wire act.”
Now Reid is following up that success with his first album of American Songbook classics, Do I Love You. This collection of intimate, emotional standards is available January 17 on iTunes and Amazon but, luckily, Reid has given us an exclusive preview from one track to get us excited. Snuggle up to your special someone and give a listen to this excerpt from “This Can’t Be Love/How Do You Keep the Music Playing”…
