There is a famous line in A Chorus Line where Zach asks those hard-hoofing hopefuls, “What would you do if you couldn’t dance.” It’s a question that haunts most professional dancers who, at some point, trade in the taps and the toe shoes for a new career that’s easier on the body.

BROADWAY & BEYOND! Celebrating Theatre & DanceCareer Transition For Dancers’ 28th Anniversary Jubilee on Tuesday, October 8, raises funds for Career Transition For Dancers. It is the only nonprofit organization in the United States solely dedicated to helping thousands of dancers take their first steps in discovering rewarding careers when performing is no longer an option.

With more than 5,800 active clients, Career Transition For Dancers has provided over 60,000 hours of individual and group career counseling and awarded millions in educational and entrepreneurial support to aid dancers in their unique transitions.

The Outstanding Contributions to the World of Dance Awards will be given to Ann Van Ness and Harlequin Floors. Ann Van Ness has been involved in various lifelong efforts to improve the quality of life for others through compassionate philanthropy. Harlequin Floors is recognized as the world leader in advanced technology sprung and vinyl flooring for the dance and performing arts communities.

This one-night-only event will include performances from On The Town, a tribute to Broadway choreographer Danny Daniels,  Annie and others as well as performances by Andrea McArdle, Christiane Noll, Rosie O’Donnell, Noah Racey, Randy Skinner, Jason Samuels Smith, Jimmy Tate and many others.

Also on tap will be show-stopping performances from Broadway shows such as A Chorus Line, Damn Yankees, Tap Dance Kid and more.*
