Did you hear that school bell? Yep, it’s time for our next master class from the amazing artists at London’s National Theatre. Now that we’ve cast the play, it’s time to rehearse it.
I bet rehearsal is one of the least understood parts of the process to those not involved in theater. It isn’t just learning where you stand and then repeating things over and over again until you get it “right”. With the help of brilliant director Nicholas Hytner (currently represented on Broadway with One Man, Two Guvnors) and consummate actor Simon Russell Beale, this bite-sized video takes you inside the rehearsal room and into the process of what actually goes on. [From my experience, the only important things they've left out are gallons of coffee and gossipy five-minute breaks.]
