A public memorial tribute hosted by Ray Romano will be held for Doris Roberts, the beloved Emmy-Award®-winning actress, on Monday, May 16 at 12:00 p.m. at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W 49th Street, NYC). A special performance will be given by Barbara Cook. General admission seating is available to the public on a first come, first serve basis. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
Doris Roberts, beloved for work both on stage and screen, earned four Emmys for the role as the loving matriarch in “Everybody Loves Raymond”. Her Broadway career began in the 1950s, as she appeared in numerous Broadway shows including William Marchant’s The Desk Set (with Shirley Booth), Neil Simon’s The Last of the Red Hot Lovers (with James Coco and Linda Lavin), Terrence McNally’s Bad Habits. She is the recipient of numerous stage and screen awards including an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Play. Doris passed away on Sunday, April 17. She was 90 years old.
