Like a shooting star, Be More Chill came and went (Off-Broadway), then came and went again (Broadway), then came and went again (London). The cult-favorite famously gained momentum due to the digital release of the cast recording — and George Salazar’s addictive rendition of “Michael in the Bathroom.” Critics were lukewarm to Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz’s musical adaptation of Ned Vizzini’s young adult novel, but the show’s fan base continues to flourish.
The Broadway Podcast Network, in collaboration with Deep Dive Broadway, is gathering cast and creatives from several productions for a first-ever Be More Chill reunion on Wednesday, July 22, 9 p.m. ET. In addition to Iconis and Tracz, the line-up includes director Stephen Brackett, choreographer Chase Brock, original cast members George Salazar, Will Roland, Jason Tam, Stephanie Hsu, and London cast members Blake Patrick Anderson, Scott Folan and Sabra Embury.
