“Broadway Channel is thrilled to launch the first Broadway-related half hour weekly show available for domestic television syndication. “What’s Hot on Broadway” gives television audience a first look at the brightest stars in the biggest shows on Broadway, national tours and in Las Vegas” commented Matthew Hege, Vice President, The Broadway Channel.
“We are very excited to bring the hottest shows, stars and events in live theater to the local TV marketplace. Musical theater has never been more important to viewers, whether through scripted series like “Glee”, live TV productions of classic musicals such as The Sound of Music on NBC, or the recent trend of offering major Broadway productions on a live day and date basis on movie screens throughout the country. Add to this the growing trend of movie and TV stars, such as Neil Patrick Harris, Bryan Cranston and Denzel Washington appearing on Broadway while Broadway luminaries such as Kristin Chenoweth and Patti LuPone appear on TV series. “What’s Hot on Broadway” offers viewers a chance to see their favorite performers in a whole different light while giving them a front row seat to everything that is Hot on Broadway,” said James Blueweiss, Managing Partner/Executive Producer, Kismet Media Group.
