The curtain will rise again. But until then, we’re reminiscing about some of our favorite musical theater performances. There are also plenty of streaming services to catch live or recently recorded broadcasts, including the newly launched 54 Below Premieres, Taylor Mac’s Holiday Sauce… Pandemic!, and John Lloyd Young’s Vegas Holiday, just to name a few.
But just like an over-indulgent holiday meal, we can’t help but crave an over-the-top production number or an 11 o’clock bring-the-house-down solo. So it’s with gratitude for artists of days gone by and those who will soon return to the stage that we share our favorite show-stoppers in musical theater history.
