Christopher Sieber is officially the hardest working man in show business—East Coast division. First, to get that Shrek Tony nomination, he had to spend every night on his knees. (The 6’2″ Sieber played the extremely diminutive Lord Farquaad.) Then just this month, he saved the day by hopping out of rehearsal for Chicago and quickly dropping into La Cage aux Folles when Jeffrey Tambor withdrew after barely a week of performances. Now comes word that, even as he was cramming lines for his shotgun wedding to Harvey Fierstein in La Cage, he’d also been prepping to join the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus as their special guest host and featured performer for Big Gay Sing 3D, March 25 and 26.
You think you can outdo Christopher? Now’s your chance. Not only will Big Gay Sing involve a hit parade of raucous sing-alongs with the audience, this time the chorus is offering singers the chance to show off their pipes onstage in a Big Gay Idol competition. Check out the NYCGMC website for entry details (think Wicked) and get out there and sing; Christopher needs the rest.
