Alohamora! Broadway is reopening, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will return to the Lyric Theatre on Friday, November 12, 2021. Last week, Tony-winning producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender announced the complete cast for this play by J. K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany.
The cast features James Snyder returning as Harry Potter, Diane Davis returning as Ginny Potter, Jenny Jules returning as Hermione Granger, and Nadia Brown returning as Rose Granger-Weasley. David Abeles will join the cast as Ron Weasley, and James Romney, Aaron Bartz, Brady Dalton Richards will play Albus Potter, Draco Malfoy, and Scorpius Malfoy respectively.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child — Parts 1 and 2 won the Tony Award for Best Play, but the play will reopen as a consolidated play in just one part. Across the pond, the two-part version will continue to play in the West End as well as in the Melbourne, Australia and Hamburg, Germany productions. The Toronto, San Francisco, and Tokyo productions will open as the new multi-act but one-part play, all scheduled to bow next year. John Tiffany won a Tony Award for directing the original Broadway version. The play also won Tonys for Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design, and Best Sound Design.
The new reopening cast also includes Oge Agulué, Kevin Angulo, Chelsey Arce, Quinn Blades, Michela Cannon, Will Carlyon, Lauren Nicole Cipoletti, Judith Lightfoot Clarke, Ted Deasy, Kira Fath, Stephanie Gomérez, Steve Haggard, Ben Horner, Edward James Hyland, Jax Jackson, Jack Koenig, Spencer LaRue, Rachel Leslie, Sarita Amani Nash, Alexandra Peter, Dan Piering, Kevin Matthew Reyes, William Rhem, Antoinette Robinson, Stephen Spinella, Tom Stephens, Maya Thomas, and Karen Janes Woditsch.
