Theater is where the boys are…at least so it seems today with three stage stories worth crushing on.
- Actor, activist and all-around husband material Gavin Creel (Hair) has released a new single called “Noise” to benefit the fight for marriage equality. It’s only $.99 on iTunes and 100% of the proceeds go to Broadway Impact, a grassroots political organization co-founded by Creel. Just to prove that Manhattan doesn’t have a monopoly on theater or handsome guys, the scrappy Astoria Performing Arts Center in Queens has unveiled their very own 2012 Men of APAC calendar, featuring models who’ve worked on stage or behind the scenes at the theater. If you’ve never mingled with a calendar pin-up, you can join the boys at a fundraising holiday party December 12; a $15 ticket includes a free drink, appetizers and one ticket to their upcoming Spring production of The Secret Garden.
- Want to see EW’s Entertainer of the Year (and eminently snoggable) Daniel Radcliffe in his final performance of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying? The innovative theatrical fundraising site Givenik.com (buy a Broadway ticket, a portion of the sale goes to charity) is giving away a deluxe theater package including two seats to that momentous January 1st show. All you have to do to be eligible is fill out the entry form at Givenik.com’s Facebook page by Friday, December 16. So click over and say a little Harry Potter-style magic spell for good luck.
