The most anticipated show of the season has arrived! Hamilton opens tonight at the Richard Rogers Theatre and producers have big plans.
Up first will be the daily drawing for lottery seats when the producers of Hamilton make available a limited number of $10 #Ham4Ham mezzanine seats for the Opening Night performance. The lottery will take place in front of the theatre earlier than usual: names will be gathered starting at 1:30 p.m. with the lottery winners announced at 2 p.m. The lottery drawing will be hosted by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Later in the evening, the public is invited to enjoy a special display of fireworks on the Hudson River starting at 10:45 p.m. Viewing is recommended along the West Side waterfront from Christopher Street to Pier 66 (West 26 St.). While watching the fireworks people can also listen to a 12-minute musical compilation of Americana that accompanies the display via simulcast by logging on to www.hamiltonbroadway.com/fireworks.
