Hello, 2018! Welcome to our new series, where we wish our favorite performers a happy birthday and offer our readers a special look at some of their most memorable performances.
Taye Diggs
Most first discovered Diggs during his run as Benjamin in the original Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of Rent, but his first big gig was in the 1994 Lincoln Center revival of Carousel (returning again to Broadway this spring!). Other Broadway credits include short runs in Chicago, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Wicked. What’s the actor up to these days? You can see him on season three of the hit FOX series Empire.
Cuba Gooding, Jr.
“Show me the money!” — It was one of Gooding’s most iconic lines in his Academy Award-winning performance in Jerry Maguire. Gooding has only appeared on Broadway once, in the 2013 production of The Trip to Bountiful. You’ll see a lot more of him in 2018 as he resumes the role of O.J. Simpson in season three of American Crime Story.
