Every third Wednesday of the month, a fabulous actor/singer/dancer fills out contributor Tom Mizer’s nosey little questionnaire and offers a glimpse of what he looks like from a bit closer than the mezzanine. For August, we’re getting back to nature with our man of the month…
Name: Erik Altemus
Hometown: San Ramon, California
Current Show/Role: Pippin / Lewis (Pippin us)
The best part of the show I’m working on now is: TThe blend of musical theater and circus.
The most challenging job in show business I ever had was: Playing Kurt in The Sound Of Music with a 105-degree temperature. Thanks to my Mom for the intermittent cold presses and TLC.
If I wasn’t a performer, I would be: A professional wild food forager!
Places, Intermission or Curtain Call? Curtain Call, straight up.
The best post-show cocktail in New York City is at: The Men’s Dressing Room at the Music Box Theatre.
After you’ve hit all the traditional sites of New York City, you should totally go: Upstate New York. There is so much natural beauty in our state. You just have to get out there and explore it!
If I could live anywhere else in the world it would be: A treetop somewhere in the forests of the Pacific Northwest. Pure magic.
My favorite summer vacation ever was: The Maldives. They are located in the middle of the Indian Ocean just south of Sri Lanka and are the most beautiful islands I’ve ever seen.
My workout “secret” is: EATING. I eat a lot! Mostly veg stuff but I find the more I snack the faster my metabolism stays.
When I’m looking for a date, nothing attracts me more than: My boyfriend in his daisy dukes.
My favorite website to visit that you may not have heard of is: cabinporn.com
Board shorts, speedo or skinny dip? Skinny dip baby!
People would be surprised to learn that I: Didn’t ride a surfboard till I was in college. #surfboardt
When I was 10, I wanted to be just like: Gloria Estefan.
Ten years from now I’d like to be: Writing and producing my own music.
In honor of the dog days of summer; pick your favorite musical pup: Uhh, DEFINITELY the original Pippin Pup “Porridge”
Catch Erik and the rest of the magical cast of Pippin (including the return of Andrea Martin in her Tony-winning role, September 2 – 21) at the Music Box Theatre now.
