Every third Wednesday of the month, a fabulous actor/singer/dancer fills out contributor Tom Mizer’s nosey little questionnaire and offers a glimpse of what he looks like from a bit closer than the mezzanine. For October, get out your spandex and play dress up with our latest super hero…
Name: Julius C.(Caesar) Carter
Hometown: Des Moines, Iowa
Current Show/Role: Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark / The Lizard, Ensemble, Spider-man
The best part of the show I’m in now is: The First thing that comes to mind is the cast and crew. An extraordinary group of talented individuals that make this monumental show happen eight times a week! I also love putting on my spidey suit everyday! Not many can say they play a superhero everyday!
The most challenging job in show business I ever had was: Auditioning! It is by far the most difficult part of the business and never ends! Whether it is it is for a new show, existing show, commercial, TV, or film, it is always tedious and stressful.
If I wasn’t an actor, I would be: Lawyer, real estate (my families business) or teacher.
Places, Intermission or Curtain Call? Hmm, Places when I’m debuting a show; Intermission when it is someone’s birthday (we usually get cake); Curtain Call after my 500th performance of a show!
The best pre-show dinner and post-shot cocktail in town are at: My absolute favorite restaurant in New York is ROBERT on the 9th floor of the Museum of Art and Design at Columbus Circle! Chef Luisa Fernandes is a genius! Post-show cocktail- Cafeteria or Swing 46.
After you’ve hit all the traditional sights of New York City, you should totally go to: Robert.
If I could live anywhere else in the world it would be: Mallorca, Prague or Chicago!
My workout “secret” is: Change it up regularly. Explore new exercise as often as possible, and try and keep your heart rate up during your entire workout.
When I’m looking for a date, nothing attracts me more than: Passion, ambition, intellect, and humor.
My favorite website to visit that you may not have heard of is: http://www.ny-petrescue.org it’s where I adopted my beautiful crazy puppy – Corra!
Boxer, Brief or Commando? Briefs when out and about. Commando behind closed doors.
People would be surprised to learn that I: Played football until I graduated high school. And I sleep with my socks on.
Ten years from now I’d like to be: As happy as I am today!
When I was 10, I wanted to be just like: Will Smith!
The best Halloween costume I ever wore was: This huge round pumpkin costume when I was like four or five.
Catch Julius in Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and on the hit web series Hustling, which returns for a third season in November.
