Once a month, I’m serving up something every theater lover secretly desires. A time machine and tickets to Carrie: The Musical? Dream on. How about one-on-one time with a stunningly attractive and wildly accomplished Broadway performer? I guess it’ll have to do.
Every third Wednesday (hump day of the hump week), a fabulous actor/singer/dancer currently on Broadway will fill out my nosey little questionnaire and offer a glimpse of what they look like from a bit closer than the mezzanine. And our first Theater Buff is…
Name: Tom Berklund
Hometown: Middleton, WI
Current Show / Role: The Addams Family / Ancestor
The best part of the show I’m in now is: definitely my cast and crewmates! They make everyday entertaining at the very least.
The worst job in show business I ever had was: in Seoul, attempting to teach five year old Korean kids to dance – it’s a long story.
If I wasn’t an actor, I would be: in the field of psychiatry
White swan or black swan? More of a white swan these days.
The best post-show cocktail in town is at: Last summer I helped open Boxers sports bar on 20th and 6th so I’m a little partial. It’s nice – check it out.
After you’ve hit all the traditional sites of New York City, you should totally go to: Billy’s Bakery on 9th Ave – I go a little more often than I should!
If I could live anywhere else in the world it would be: I’m pretty content with New York these days, but I’ll always be a fan of Madison, WI.
Board shorts, speedo or skinny dip? Believe it or not, I don’t actually own a swimsuit right now; for some reason I tend to lose articles of clothing a lot! But when I do purchase one, probably board shorts.
My workout “secret” is: well – no secret really – just try to consistently get to the gym. Seems to be getting harder and harder these days.
When I’m looking for a date, nothing attracts me more than: confidence and maturity
When I’m web surfing, the site I’m most likely to be on is: probably facebook – the ultimate time waster.
Talk, text or tweet? Talk or text, I’ve yet to ever tweet anything.
People would be surprised to learn that I: was a competitive all-state swimmer in high school.
When I was 10, I wanted to be just like: Macaulay Culkin – I guess I had the acting bug early.
Ten years from now, I’d like to be: living in my own, paid-off NYC apartment.
Breakfast in bed or midnight snack? Midnight snack – I’m not a morning person.
