A season cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic will still have its moment in the spotlight. As previously reported, The American Theater Wing announced that the 74th Tony Awards will be presented digitally this fall. Less clear was which shows would be eligible for awards — until today.
The Tony Awards Administration Committee met on August 27, 2020, to confirm the eligibility status of three Broadway productions for the 2020 Tony Awards. This was the final time the Tony Awards Administration Committee met during the 2019-2020 season to decide eligibility.
The official eligibility cutoff date was Thursday, February 19, 2020, for all Broadway productions opening in the 2019–2020 season. The Broadway Blog the majority of the 18 nominated productions—16 less than last season. The following productions will be considered eligible for 2020 Tony Award nominations (in opening-night order):

Omitted were shows that opened after February 19 but before Broadway’s full shutdown on March 12. These include West Side Story, Girl From North Country, and shows that were in previews at the time.
A date for the digital ceremony has yet to be announced.
