“Here we go again!” After being isolated and cooped up for so long, you might be singing, “I’m an islander,” and maybe we all haven’t been changed “for good,” but the positive news is on the horizon: the West End hopes to resume performances soon.
In order of each of the above corny references, Mamma Mia, Come From Away, and Wicked are among the shows we can’t wait to see up and running. Each of these blockbusters started their runs on Broadway, scoring awards aplenty, before making the leap across the pond to play to London’s packed houses. COVID-19 shut down those theaters, even so, tickets are currently on sale if you’re planning a jaunt across the pond.
Mamma Mia occupies the Novello Theatre, Come From Away is at the Phoenix Theatre, and Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. We’re excited about several other musicals, too, including Anything Goes, Pretty Woman and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s highly-anticipated Cinderella. Ticketing information and more for each of these shows and others can be found here, and — for those looking to travel or make an event out it — hotel rates and ticket prices are much more affordable than they were at the beginning of 2020: package deals are outlined here.
Welcome back to the theater, and “have the time of your life!”
