The celebrated London revival of Cabaret will release a cast album featuring its original West End cast, which was led on opening night by Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley, on January 20, 2023.
‘Willkommen’ and ‘Mein Herr’ were released on streaming platforms December 21 in the UK, ahead of the full recording’s release next month.
The Rebecca Frecknall-directed production of the Tony-winning 1966 Broadway musical, currently running at London’s Kit Kat Club, officially opened December 12, 2021. The cast now features Callum Scott Howells as The Emcee and Madeline Brewer as Sally Bowles. Supporting players include Sid Sagar as Cliff Bradshaw, Danny Mahoney as Ernst Ludwig, and Michelle Bishop as Fraulein Kost.
Based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood, Cabaret has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Joe Masteroff. The creative team includes set and costume designer Tom Scutt, choreographer Julia Cheng, musical director Jennifer Whyte, lighting designer Isabella Byrd, and sound designer Nick Lidster.
Winning a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards including Best Musical Revival, this intimate and electrifying new production of Cabaret has become a hot ticket in London, with Berlin’s famous Kit Kat Club brought to life through the transformation of London’s Playhouse Theatre.
