The American Theatre Wing has announced that its legendary, long running, and completely revamped web series, “Working in the Theatre” has been nominated for a 2016 Webby Award for Online Film & Video – Documentary: Series. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 26, with the 20th Annual Webby Awards to be held in May 2016.
The online public also chooses The Webby People’s Voice Winners by casting ballots for their favorite Nominees during the annual voting period, now through Friday, April 22nd at 3:00 a.m. EST (12 midnight PST), at the Webby Award website.
The Webby Awards is the Internet’s most respected symbol of success. The 20th Annual Webby Awards received nearly 13,000 entries from nearly all 50 states and 65 countries worldwide. Webby Winners are selected by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a global organization of industry experts and technology innovators.
Recent “Working in the Theatre” episodes have included a look inside legendary comedy troupe Second City, the use of sign language on stage in Deaf West Theatre’s Broadway revival of Spring Awakening, the historic West Village piano bar Marie’s Crisis, the journey of Fun Home star Joel Perez, the inner workings of the artist owned ensemble theatre Double Edge Theatre, the collaborative process of writer/director/designer Andrew Ondrejcak, and more.
